Hunter at Water's Edge

This piece is the result of a beading challenge presented by the Bead Society of Central Florida (Fall 2007). Each contestant was given a kit including the same types of beads (several different color variations were offered, and I chose the blue) and was given free reign to create whatever they wanted with those beads. Only limited amounts of outside beads were allowed (I added the carved bone fish beads). My entry is meant to represent a bear fishing on a rocky shore, surrounded by crashing waves. I was pleased and flattered to find that my necklace was awarded both the grand prize of the challenge, as well as the people's choice award.
